Terms of Service & Disclaimer

This English text is a translation provided for reference only. In the event of any discrepancy between this translation and the Chinese version, the Chinese version shall prevail.

By using WeSeeMatsu (島引馬祖; the "Site"), you confirm that you have read and agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.

The key point first: the Site is not the website of any government agency, airline, ferry operator, or other official body. Information such as flights, ferry sailings, the takeoff-and-landing assessment, weather, and Blue Tears and fog forecasts is for reference only. Before you set out, always rely on the official announcements of the airport offices, the Port Office, the Transportation and Tourism Bureau, the Central Weather Administration, and other authorities.

1. What the Site is

The Site compiles government open data, public websites, and community information to provide local information about Matsu, including transport, island conditions, attractions, businesses, culture, and events. Wherever possible, all external data is attributed and linked to its original source.

2. Accuracy of information and disclaimer

  1. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. The Site's data is collected automatically by software or compiled by hand. Updates to source websites, connection failures, or format changes may all cause the Site's content to differ from the actual situation. Where data cannot be obtained, the Site displays "—" and explains why, but it cannot guarantee that every item is current, complete, and accurate.
  2. "Estimated by this site" is not an official determination. The takeoff-and-landing assessment (estimated from weather reports issued by the Civil Aviation Administration, 民航局), Blue Tears probability, fog and flight-cancellation forecasts, tide-level estimates, estimated ship positions, and the like are all reference values that the Site calculates from public data. They do not represent an airport's opening or closure announcements, a ferry operator's decision to sail, or any official forecast.
  3. Official sources prevail for schedules and ticketing. Information on flights, ferry sailings, fares, parking fees, and the like is subject to the announcements of the airlines, ferry operators, the Transportation and Tourism Bureau, and the parking authorities.
  4. Business and people information. Businesses' operating status, phone numbers, and opening hours, as well as profiles of people, are compiled from public data and news reports and may have changed. If you find an error, please report it and the Site will correct it as soon as possible.
  5. Any decision you make based on information on the Site (for example, planning a trip, rebooking flight or ferry tickets, or going to a particular place) is made at your own judgment and risk. To the extent permitted by law, the Site shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, information on the Site; this does not apply where the Site has acted with intent or gross negligence.

3. Safety reminders

4. Tools such as the Ferry Booking Helper and the Parking Helper

5. Members

  1. When registering, please provide true and accurate information and keep your account and password safe. Actions carried out through your account are deemed to be your own.
  2. An account is activated only after email verification and review. The Site may suspend or terminate an account in any of the following circumstances: impersonating another person, posting unlawful or infringing content, harassing others, interfering with the operation of the website, or sending advertising in bulk.
  3. You may request deletion of your account at any time; see the Privacy Notice for how.

6. Content you post or upload

  1. You retain the copyright in your articles, bulletins, reviews, photos, reports, old-object submissions, recordings, and other content. You agree that, in order to provide its services, the Site may reproduce and publicly transmit that content on the Site and its mobile version, and create thumbnails of or crop it as layout requires.
  2. Some features carry an additional license that you agree to before submitting: recordings for "Record the Matsu dialect together" are released under CC0; old-object submissions are released under CC BY 4.0 once approved.
  3. Please upload only content that you have the right to upload. You may not post: content that infringes another person's copyright or portrait rights, other people's personal data, false or defamatory content, unlawful, pornographic, or violent content, or scams or unlabeled advertising.
  4. The Site may, without notice, remove content that violates these terms or that has been reported by a rights holder.

7. Intellectual property

8. Advertising and ranking

The Site's business listings may include paid placements. Paid placements are always marked "Ad" and have an end date. All other ranking follows rules that the Site explains publicly (for example, completeness of data and official registration), which you can see under "Why it's ranked here" on a business's detail page. Advertising does not affect the Site's judgment of the accuracy of data.

9. Reporting errors and infringement

If you believe content on the Site is incorrect or infringes your rights, or you would like data relating to you removed, please notify us as described in Report an Error or Infringement. The Site will handle it as soon as possible after receipt and, as a rule, will remove, correct, or reply within 7 days.

10. Changes to and interruption of service

The Site may suspend, change, or terminate some features due to maintenance, changes to source websites, natural disasters, or other events of force majeure. It will give advance notice where possible, but does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

11. Amendments to these terms

The Site may amend these terms. Amendments will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Site after an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The parties agree to first resolve any dispute arising from the Site's services through negotiation; if negotiation fails, the Fujian Lienchiang District Court (福建連江地方法院) shall be the court of first instance, except where the law provides otherwise (for example, the Consumer Protection Act, 消費者保護法).
