Privacy Notice

What we record

To manage the website and keep it secure, the website records:

• Browsing and activity logs: the time, which page you viewed, and what action you took (for example, logging in, posting an article, uploading an image, or sending feedback), together with your IP address and browser type at the time. When you are logged in, the log is linked to your member account; when you are not, only the IP address is recorded.
• Recordings for "Record the Matsu dialect together": the audio you choose to record, together with the optional accent, age group (calculated automatically from your year of birth), and gender you provide. With your consent, recordings are released under CC0 for use in research on Matsu dialect speech. The released data does not include your name or account, and you may delete your own recordings at any time.
• Blue Tears reports: the viewing spot, the intensity you saw, the time, and any optional notes that you send when you tap "Report Blue Tears", plus your approximate location if you allow your phone to share it (kept only to about 100 meters; locations outside Matsu are not collected). Public pages show only the viewing spot, intensity, and time, not who reported it. The data is used to verify and improve the Site's Blue Tears forecast.
• Garbage truck "Nearest run to you": when you tap the button and allow location access, your location is used only on your phone or computer to find the nearest pickup point. It is not sent to the Site and is not stored. Your device remembers only that you gave consent; tap "Close" to withdraw it.
• LINE assistant: when you add the assistant as a friend or use it in a one-on-one chat, we record the user ID that LINE provides (a random string that is not your LINE account and contains no name or profile picture), the island you choose to follow, whether you want ferry- and flight-cancellation alerts, and any Blue Tears reports you send through LINE (viewing spot, intensity, and time). In group chats, the assistant responds only to messages that consist entirely of a keyword, and does not store group conversations. Send "不要通知" ("no notifications") to turn alerts off. Once you delete or block the assistant, it will no longer notify you.
• Old-object submissions: the photos, name, story, period, island, and card credit you upload. Once approved, they are released under CC BY 4.0 as you agreed, and the card shows only the credit you entered (left blank means anonymous). Submissions that are not approved are not made public, and you can also ask the site administrator to delete them.
• Member data: your account, display name, email, phone number (optional), profile picture, and self-introduction, as well as the articles and images you post.

What we do not record

• Passwords (only an encrypted, irreversible hash is stored), form content other than article drafts, and your activity on other websites.

Who can see it, and how long it is kept

• Browsing and activity logs can be seen only by the website administrator (the site owner) and are kept for 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically.
• Your email and phone number are not public. Only the administrator can see them, and they are used to send verification emails and review notifications, or to contact you when necessary.
• Your display name, profile picture, self-introduction, and published articles can be seen by other people.

Purposes

To understand how the website is used, to improve its content, and to detect anomalies (for example, someone repeatedly trying passwords or posting inappropriate content). The data is not sold or provided to third parties, except where required by law.

Your rights

You can change your information at any time under "Account settings" in the member window. To delete your account or ask about your own records, please email the website administrator: haochen0821@gmail.com.
